Which video call app has the best built-in beauty filter?

Google Meet's portrait touch-up does the most: it smooths the complexion, lightens the under-eye area and whitens the eyes, in two levels, but only on eligible paid plans. Zoom's "Touch up my appearance" softens skin with one slider and comes with Zoom. Teams' Soft focus is an on/off smoothing switch.

Do Zoom, Teams or Google Meet whiten teeth?

No. None of the three documents a teeth adjustment. Google Meet whitens the eyes as part of portrait touch-up. ClaraCam has separate controls for teeth and eyes.

Do I have to set up the touch-up in each app?

Yes. Each built-in touch-up is a setting inside its own app, with its own name, location and strength. A virtual camera such as ClaraCam applies one look in all of them.

Which built-in touch-up is free?

Zoom's "Touch up my appearance" and Teams' Soft focus come with the app. Google Meet's portrait touch-up and makeup need an eligible Google Workspace edition, Google One, or Google Workspace Individual.

Where is the video processed?

Microsoft states that Teams processes audio and video enhancements locally. Google states that Meet's studio look is processed in the cloud. ClaraCam processes every frame on your own computer and never uploads your video to ClaraCam.

Can I use a built-in touch-up and ClaraCam together?

You can, but two smoothing effects stacked look artificial. Turn the app's own touch-up off and set your look in ClaraCam.
