Beauty filter for Microsoft Teams

Teams has "Soft focus", which Microsoft describes as a smoothing effect for your face, and "Adjust brightness" for poor lighting. Both are on/off switches with no strength control, and Microsoft states that neither is available in Teams on the web. Teams also offers video filters with color styles and frames.

Before a meeting, open the device settings on the pre-join screen and look under Video settings. Outside a meeting, it is in Settings and more, then Settings, then Devices. It is not in Teams on the web.

The most common cause is the Teams version: Microsoft states that Soft focus and Adjust brightness are not available in Teams on the web. Users on Microsoft's Q&A forum also report Soft focus missing on some account types, such as education accounts, and after Teams updates. Separately, administrators can restrict background effects by policy and block filter apps. ClaraCam does not depend on any of these, because it is a camera, not a Teams feature.

Microsoft announced a Maybelline Beauty app with 12 makeup looks for enterprise customers in July 2023. Microsoft's current video filter documentation no longer mentions it, and it was reported to work only in the classic Teams client, which reached end of support in 2024.
